A Major Victory for Educators!

On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, Congress passed an education bill that will add critical funding to the budgets of Virginia and many other states. Virginia is expected to receive just over $246 million in additional federal funds which could save or restore more than 3,800 jobs. The bill will help students in classrooms and boost the state's economy by keeping more people employed. This victory is the result of an amazing team effort, including an unprecedented mobilization of association members, staff and affiliates who emailed, called and made personal visits to every congressional office.
