On August 19, 2009, 39 FEA members rallied against the state Board of Education and General Assembly to stop funding caps for school support staff. This rally proved successful in saving 13,000 ESP jobs across the state. Through rallies, events, committees and member benefits FEA continues to work hard on behalf of our support professionals.

A grievance won by FEA supporting equity of teaching time for general music and physical education classes led to the formation of the Fairfax General Music Educators Association. Joining forces with Fairfax Arts Coalition for Education (FACE), we managed to preserve elementary music education opportunities including beginning choral, strings, and band instruction.
